Day 69 - A "Supported" Hike - Chute Jam and Rachel

July 23 - Eckville Shelter to Palmerton, PA - 26.1 miles

Had a phenomenal lunch today thanks to our hiking friend, Chute Jam (also known as Kevin). We met him just after the Smokies at a shelter and talked about gear, food and nutrition. Samwise and I try to socialize with everyone we meet and it just so happened that Chute Jam was a great guy to talk to (he also gave us some spare bars and snacks that day).
For lunch be brought two large hoagies (submarine sandwich), a rich potato salad, a half gallon of iced tea, half gallon of sweet tea, pomegranate lemonade ice cream and fresh fruit. That was spectacular! Thanks again Kev.

Later in the evening we met up with my cousin Rachel and her husband Chad at the Blue Ridge Campground. She was able to pick us up from Palmerton and drive us back to the campsite she reserved. For dinner she threw together an amazing beef stew with zucchini, squash and other great things. That was enjoyed with cold beer and wine and homemade beer bread!
Thank you Rachel and Chad! That was a great evening for us.

Having lunch and dinner provided for us kind of felt like we were "supported" for a bit. Felt like I was a professional hiker for a day... hah
